Yes. Getting matched through Breakthrough is free, and there’s no obligation to book. You only pay for therapy sessions if you choose to start with a therapist – through your insurance or their private-pay rate.

No catch. Breakthrough is free during launch while we build our Hawaiʻi therapist network. You won’t be charged for getting matched, you don’t need a credit card, and there’s no obligation to book. If you decide to start therapy, scheduling, billing, and care happen directly with your therapist.

In many cases, yes. Many therapists in our network accept major insurance plans, including HMSA, Kaiser, UHA, QUEST plans, and others. We’ll ask about your insurance in the quiz and prioritize therapists who appear to be in-network whenever possible. Insurance is billed through your therapist, not Breakthrough.

Costs vary by therapist and whether you use insurance. With insurance, copays are typically $20 to $50 per session; private-pay rates generally run $150 to $200 per session. You’ll see each matched therapist’s rate and the insurance they accept before you book.

We review your answers and look across our therapist network for the one to three strongest fits. Your matches arrive by email – most within 3 days. If you don’t see it within a few days, check spam or write us at support@breakthrough.me. From there, you choose whether you’d like an introduction.

Most people receive matches within 3 days of finishing the quiz, often sooner. Some matches may take longer if your insurance, availability, location, or clinical needs are more specific.

Yes. If your therapist doesn’t feel like the right fit, let us know and we’ll help you find a better one – there’s no extra cost and no need to start over from scratch.

Yes. Your quiz answers are kept private, and we never sell your data. We may share a brief summary of what you’re looking for with a potential therapist so they can confirm fit, but we don’t share your name or contact details until you choose to request an introduction.
